A plan that employs digital initiatives to achieve clear goals for the use of technology in educational
institutions.
When developing a digital strategy, one must determine the purpose and then establish a clear vision. The involvement of stakeholders is essential to establishing a successful vision. A vision to provide high quality, visible and inclusive digital education.
Our
Digital Vision is to be recognized as a leader in education through our
delivery of integrated digitized learning, teaching and school operations that
are responsive, efficient, effective, and that maximize student outcomes
while alleviating risk.
The School’s Digital
Strategy is a five-year plan empowering schools to determine their own digital future and
support them with the skills and tools they need to succeed.
The Digital Strategy
for the school builds on the achievements and ambition of the previous strategy
and aims to further support the school system not only improve the student learning
process but also to ensure that all learners are exposed to gain the knowledge and skills they need to navigate this
dynamic digital world successfully and safely.

Technology Plan
What is a Technology Plan?
The best way to integrate technology effectively into your classroom is to plan for it. Many school leaders have had the unfortunate experience of investing in technology only to discover later that it is either incompatible with equipment the school already owns, that their staff are not trained to use it, or that maintenance cost were higher than expected. A technology plan will help you articulate your needs and goals and help you communicate.
A technology plan is not simply a plan for what technology should be purchased and
when it should be upgraded. It is a mechanism to help prioritize and budget for
the technology tools that are most important for achieving organizational
goals. You must begin with an organization's mission and
priorities.
A technology plan helps to clarify where opportunities exist to improve infrastructure or deliver services in a new way. (Reference: TechSoup). A good technology plan will also allow you to substantiate your computer budget requests, verify your kind of grant contributions, and are often times necessary when applying for technology related grants. It would ensure that all learners are provided access, opportunity and resources to develop into responsible users, consumers and producers of technology in this 21st century.

I like the fact that you showed that a digital strategy will take time and is not something that that can be rushed. That needs to be a major consideration when schools are developing their strategy.

Although the implementation of such a strategy is important especially in these changing times and the integration of technology in subjects is the way forward, the strategy must still be carefully and thoroughly devised as all the necessary factors such as infrastructure, internet access, access to technology tools and funding to name a few need to be considered.
